UK University Office Visits: Abertay, Dundee and Stirling

On Friday, July 12th, from 1 - 3 pm ET, we welcome representatives from the University of Dundee, University of Stirling and Abertay University into the SI-UK Toronto office (333 Bay St) to speak with students interested in studying at these Scottish universities.

Abertay University

Abertay is a campus University based in Dundee in eastern Scotland with over 4,500 students enrolled. Many of the courses and buildings are modern, with a high-tech approach to learning common throughout the five schools and one institute which act as departments and faculties for the University.

Abertay University is perhaps best known for its strong focus on computer games and art design. It is the only UK university with official accreditation in both these fields, and has a partnership with Peking University in China for games. The University is also academically strong in the areas of IT, as well as business, economics and biotechnology. It has pioneered ethical hacking programs in the UK, and specializes in Biomedical Sciences, Sports and Health Exercise and Fitness, Health and Nutrition programs.

University of Dundee

The University of Dundee has pioneered innovations as diverse as keyhole surgery and flat screen technology. It is a university with a social purpose, building on its long-standing values.

• Dundee is one of the most affordable cities for students in the UK

University of Stirling

The University of Stirling is located in central Scotland, with over 120 different nationalities represented amongst its 14,000 students. Stirling was founded in 1967 and its campus is set in an 18th century castle estate on the shores of a loch, surrounded by beautiful hills.

The University of Stirling continues to have several unique factors outside of its location. It is a pioneer of a two-semester structure and modular degrees, allowing great flexibility in start times and changes in study. Degrees are also made up of credits earned from modules, which means that students can effectively change their subject as/or if their interests change.
