|Scholarship Name||Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Sport, Music and the Arts|
|Scholarship Deadline||25 January 2023|
At Durham University we believe in creating an environment in which academic excellence can be combined with opportunities for personal development. One of the most important ways our students further their personal development is by taking part in the wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer here.
Our students are amongst the most active in the country in the fields of Sport, Music and the Arts and therefore we are pleased to confirm that we will be offering Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Sport, Music and the Arts worth £2,000 per academic year to students.
Applications are particularly welcome from Ethnic Minority groups and candidates who come from neighbourhoods with low overall progression to higher education or high levels of socio-economic deprivation.
Scholarship offers can only be made for direct entry i.e students who are commencing their academic studies with the University in October 2023.
Deferred entry applicants ie students who are applying to the University for entry in October 2024 would make their scholarship application by the 2024 entry scholarship deadline for consideration with other scholarship applications for 2024 entry. Please note that if you are made a scholarship offer for entry in October 2023 it will not be possible to defer the scholarship offer to the following academic year - 2024.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate an exceptional level of excellence in Sport, Music or the Arts; for example participation in sporting or musical events at a national or international level. Applicants will also be required to play an active part in Durham University's sporting, musical and performing communities.
