Birmingham named top university for graduate employment in the UK

25 February 2021

We are pleased to announce The University of Birmingham has been named the top university for graduate employment in the UK. Birmingham is number one on the list of institutions most frequently targeted by the country’s top employers.

The Graduate Market in 2021 is a study of the latest graduate vacancies and starting salaries at the UK’s one hundred best-known and most successful employers, conducted by High Fliers Research during December 2020.

According to this report, The University of Birmingham is number one on the list of UK universities most frequently targeted by the country’s top employers looking for graduate recruits.

Birmingham’s strong emphasis on graduate employability within a given degree programme and beyond prepares students for the competitive job market. The Birmingham Project offers first year students the opportunity to work with academics and leading employers from the world of business, industry and the arts to tackle a ‘real world’ challenge. As students shape their ambitions throughout their time at university, Birmingham provides opportunities to undertake summer internships, gain work experience, work with an alumni mentor, take part in research projects, and seek careers advice.
