Brunel University London - Physiotherapy Visit (Toronto)

We are pleased to welcome representatives from the Brunel University, London Department of Physiotherapy into our Toronto office for a student meet and greet. This event will take place on Thursday, May 8th, from 4 - 6 pm ET.
Students will be able to ask questions in person about studying Physiotherapy at Brunel, scholarships, entry requirements, accommodation options, extra-curricular opportunities, information about the city of London, and much more.
Brunel also welcomes any offer holders to speak with them in person or online, answering any questions that might help them make a decision on where they would like to study.
Academic Bios:
Jonathan Warne is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with experience in the public, private health and academic sector. He currently works full-time at Brunel University London as a Physiotherapy Lecturer within the Musculoskeletal team and the Programme lead for the MSc (Pre-Reg) Physiotherapy degree. On the programme Jon is the musculoskeletal subject lead and is the module lead for the lower quadrant module. Jonathan is an advocate for equality, diversity and inclusivity and runs an outreach programme to schools across London to encourage those from minority backgrounds to consider health care as a potential career.
Previously Jon worked in Australia as the Clinical Director of a national physiotherapy company maintaining a high level of up-to-date evidence based practice through overseeing staff mentoring, organising and running of education sessions and training courses. Jon’s passion for teaching and mentoring began whilst working as a clinical tutor for physiotherapy students for the University of Notre Dame. He also has a passion for research and has previously worked as a research assistant and published papers for studies related to tendinopathy.
Dr Alyson Warland is a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Specialist Neurorehabilitation Physiotherapist with over 30 years clinical experience in public and private sectors, both in the UK and overseas. She has worked at Brunel University London since 2004, where she currently leads the post-graduate Advanced Clinical Practice pathway in Neurorehabilitation, module leads the BSc (Hons) and MSc (Pre-Registration) Neurorehabilitation modules and Oncology and Palliative Care study blocks. Additionally, she has supervised over 120 successful students research projects at BSc, MSc and PhD levels.
Alyson is a mixed-methods researcher, whose research interests include rehabilitation of HIV-related neurological conditions, neuro-oncology and stroke rehabilitation. Since completing her Doctorate in 2018, Alyson has continued investigating the use of gaming technologies for upper-limb stroke rehabilitation, alongside investigating wheelchair provision in spinal cord injury and interventions to address sedentary behaviour in stroke and Spinal cord injury.
