Speaker profile
Mark O'Brien is Associate Dean of The City Law School, previously having been Head of the School of Law at Oxford Brookes University, and Director of Law at the University of the West of England, Bristol.
A graduate of Exeter and Reading Universities, Mark has also previously held appointments at Reading and Sheffield Hallam Universities.
Mark’s teaching interests relate to Public Law, and his research interests revolve around information technology law, civil liberties and criminal justice, especially regarding the regulation of the Internet and wider cyberspace issues, and also counter-cultural groups, public order law and police discretion, in all of which areas he has published extensively.
