Study Medicine in the UK with the University of Buckingham

Join the University of Buckingham on Tuesday, March 28th from 4 pm ET to learn about what the Buckingham Medicine program involves and why studying near London might appeal to you. We will be joined by academic Dr. Joanne Selway as well as Buckingham Admissions Manager Stephen Maden.

Academic Speaker details: 

Dr. Joanne Selway is a Reader and Phase 1 MB ChB lead at the University of Buckingham Medical School. She studied at the University of Bath for a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry followed by a Ph.D. at the University of Leicester in Cell Physiology and Pharmacology. Having worked in the Buckingham Institute for Translational Medicine (BITM) as a Post-Doctoral Researcher, working in the fields of Dermatology, Translational Medicine and Imaging, Dr. Selway transitioned into the Medical School as part of the Founding team.

Dr. Selway has been part of the Medical School since its establishment, throughout the GMC-accreditation process and as such as extensive experience across the program but specifically in admissions and selection, assessment and student choice within the MB ChB curriculum. Dr. Selway was appointed to Phase 1 Lead in 2020.

As a medical education researcher, Dr. Selway participates in pedagogic research in Medical Education, developing scholarly work and research publications in the areas of teaching, learning and assessment, leadership and selection. As an active member of the Medical Education Research Group, Dr. Selway has recently been developing research based on the COVID-19 pandemic with a small community of other researchers.
